4. HOW CAN THE GOLF COURSE MONITOR AND ORGANIZE GOLFERS USING THEIR
PRACTICE ROUND?
It will be the responsibility of the STARTER (the person employed by the Golf Course and who sits at the 1st Tee) to organize when individuals or groups tee-off. This person will also now be called upon to schedule who hits at the 1st Tee practice net and when.
5. WHAT HAPPENS IF THE ON-LINE SYSTEM GOES DOWN? IS THE CARD SYSTEM STILL
OPERATIONAL?
The DonalwayGolf Systems on-line system provides the highway which moves information from the main computer to the First Tee Station. A constant watch is maintained by the First Tee Station to insure that the line between it and the main computer is always operational. When that line does not respond, the tee station automatically goes into stand-alone mode which allows it to continue even though the system is not operational. The tee-station continues to accept user cards and usage of the card holder is tracked and stored on the tee-station. Once the system is back online, First Tee-station automatically uploads the usage information back to the main computer where each and every user file is updated. The First Tee Station is capable of storing multiple days of usage without updating the main computer. This fail-safe backup insures maximum up time for the First Tee Station.
